You can trust Alison and her team. They are very professional and make you feel at ease. Once I took a wrong lane and freaked out I’d get lost but I always felt safe and knew the team would find me.
Laurie, France

My riding friends said I must be crazy to want to ride in India. Maybe, but FreeW made it all doable and safe not only for me but the others at different riding levels in the tour. 10/10, highly recommend! Made new friends for life and saw a part of India from an amazing perspective.
Stacey, USA

FreeW’s India tour helped me reconnect with who I am beyond titles and expectations. I was pushed out of my comfort zone—and I’m so glad I did it. This journey reminded me that life doesn’t end at 60—it evolves. I feel more alive, curious, and free than ever.

Following your time to acclimate yourself in Leh and exploring the vibrant local markets; the trip starts off with a gentle introduction by a leisurely ride around Leh. Riders visit villages, monasteries, and interact with the community.
After Leh, riders begin to venture further into Ladakh’s vast landscapes. The route leads to Lamayuru and beyond to include riding over remote mountain passes and through old Buddhist areas. As riders move toward Lingsed and Padum in the Zanskar Valley, you will encounter some of the most untouched and rugged terrain in the Himalayas. Additionally, you have the opportunity to spend nights in local communities and be immersed within the culture. Once through these areas, riders will cross high altitude passes such as Shinku La. Their next destination will be Jispa, at which point a rest day provides the option to recover from travel fatigue, explore, or participate in optional rides.
The next leg of the journey includes crossing various well-known Himalayan passes including Baralacha La, riding to Tso Kar Lake, which is known for its serenity. Then, from there, riders will head onto Pangong, one of Ladakh’s most popular high-altitude lakes. From Pangong, riders will proceed along the Shyok River into Nubra Valley. In Nubra Valley, you can expect to see desert landscapes, monasteries and cultural experiences that provide a contrasting environment compared to the mountainous terrain. An additional dedicated exploration day is provided so that you may enjoy sand riding, camels, and engage in meaningful activities with local communities.
For the final leg of the journey, riders will return to Leh via Khardung La Pass (one of the highest motorable roads in the world).
